Babymoon at the Fairmont Pacific Rim

As the weeks tick-down to my little guy's due date, life has become...well, uncomfortable. I have trouble sleeping, I'm feeling enormous, and my back is constantly hurting. And after asking all of you on Instagram how to cope with these last few weeks it became super-clear to me that I needed a spa day!

Being that I am way too close to my due date to travel very far, I was looking for something close - just in case I went into labour. When I learned that one of my favorite hotels in Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim, actually offered a package for expecting mothers, The Goodnight Babymoon Package (also how cute is that name), I jumped at the opportunity for a little R&R...well, it was more like an excited waddle.

Checking in to our gorgeous room, with panoramic views of beautiful Vancouver on Saturday, I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous (giant) bathtub (but more on that later). Let's just say that it's a pregnant girl's dream bath...so relaxing!

We dropped everything in the room and I headed straight for the beautiful Willow Stream Spa. While most of my friends all have had prenatal massages far earlier in their pregnancies, I had resisted going, as I wasn't all that uncomfortable earlier in my pregnancy, and I was also a bit nervous about how logistically the massage would actually work. Walking into the room, I saw what I thought was an odd adjustable contraption, with holes for my belly and boobs. But, after a few seconds of adjustments, my nervousness melted away - it felt like I was on a cloud. It was amazing.

After my Ultimate Rose Pregnancy Massage, I was in heaven. I honestly cannot remember the last time I was that relaxed. So much so that our dinner plans were subbed out for a bath in our Signature Ofuro Room's massive tub, overlooking the city's stunning harbour, and thin-crust pizza in-bed from my husband's favourite, giovane cafe + eatery.

The next morning, I gave into my pregnancy cravings and ordered pancakes. I typically don't eat sugar, nor do I usually like pastries, but how can you resist Cinnamon Bun Pancakes?! Seriously delicious. After breakfast, I took advantage of our gorgeous room's view and a rare peek of sunlight to have one final bath in that incredible tub.

My wholehearted thanks to Fairmont Pacific Rim for an amazing weekend and to Granville Island Florist for providing the gorgeous florals :)

  2. You must be overwhelmed with joy during that time. When my wife was pregnant with my first son, she was tired all the time. Often times she's frustrated over the little mistakes that I make which is kind of rough but I completely understand why. Sometimes I see her smiling alone, looking at her baby bump, that was the best thing that I have ever seen in my life. Pregnancy is a challenging experience so you should be very proud that you have gone through it. i need help with a resume
