Life's Little Indulgences: Stop and Smell the Florale

Life is all about the little things—taking time to stop and smell the flowers, as they say—and while I love a day of shopping for designer shoes and bags (who doesn’t? ),  sometimes a day of little indulgences is better than all the designer bags in the world. What makes me happiest is wandering around in my neighborhood on a crisp, sunny Fall day. You know the type of Fall day where it’s not raining and not yet super cold, and where, when you stand in the sun, you can still feel the slight warmth of Summer even as the leaves turn and begin to fall gently from the trees? That is the perfect Fall day for me. I especially love the way the tree-lined streets of my neighbourhood look at this time of year. Much to the dismay of some of my neighbours, I’m also a sucker for running through leaves pilled on the sidewalk—heels and all. 

On days like today, I love to take my little dog, Binixe, for long walks on the seawall, which I am lucky enough to live very close to. On our walks, Binxie and I love to breathe in the crisp Fall air, and of course, to chase some leaves as they blow along the walk way—well, that’s more of a Binxie thing, though I happen to think it’s just adorable! 

After our walk, I love to indulge in some treats that I would normally shy away from, especially during bikini season. Who wouldn’t want to indulge in an amazingly decadent, slightly warm pain au chocolat, paired with a lavender-scented cappuccino—swoon. The only thing left to make this delightful Fall day the best ever are my fav Fall fashion magazines, and a pretty bouquet of flowers for my apartment.  All of my favorite things in one afternoon—what more could a girl ask for?
